Event Ticket Terms and Conditions
Please read these terms and conditions carefully before purchasing tickets. By purchasing tickets, you (the “Purchaser”) are agreeing to be bound by the following terms and conditions. [If you choose not to be bound by the terms and conditions, the Australian British Chamber of Commerce (the “Chamber”) does not grant you the right to purchase tickets.]
Variation
The Chamber may vary these terms and conditions at any time. Any variations become effective on posting of the revised terms and conditions on the Chamber’s website (www.britishchamber.com). By making a purchase after the terms and conditions have been varied, the Purchaser agrees to be bound by the variation.
General Terms and Conditions
Tickets must be paid for in full by two weeks (14 days) prior to an event. The Chamber reserves the right to deny entry to delegates with outstanding fees.
The Chamber reserves the right to add, withdraw, reschedule or substitute speakers and/or vary advertised programs, prices, venues, seating arrangements and audience capacity.
Dietary requirements must be advised no later than seven (7) calendar days prior to the event. By agreeing to these terms and conditions, the Purchaser acknowledges that failure to provide such notice may result in a meal being served that does not meet their dietary requirements.
The use of cameras, audio and video recorders is at the discretion of the Chamber and may not be permitted at an event. The Chamber reserves the right to broadcast and/or telecast any event and take photos for publication.
Cancellation by the Chamber
In the circumstance that an event to be held by the Australian British Chamber of Commerce is cancelled by the Chamber for any reason, all amounts paid by a Purchaser, less any surcharge for the use of certain credit cards, can be used by the Purchaser as a credit toward a future event or will be refunded by the Chamber to the Purchaser.
Cancellation by the Purchaser
In general, unless otherwise stated, event bookings are transferable and if a Purchaser is not able to attend, they may send another person in their place. Please note that prior notice of such a substitution must be provided to the Chamber (events@britishchamber.com), 7 calendar days in advance of the event.
If a Purchaser is unable to attend or find someone to take their place, the following policy applies:
Cancellations will only be accepted in writing,
- For events in NSW, ACT, QLD and WA by email addressed to events@britishchamber.com; or
- For events in VIC and SA by email addressed to abccvic@britishchamber.com
For notice of cancellation received up to fourteen (14) calendar days prior to the event the Purchaser may receive a refund of the full amount.
For notice of cancellation received less than fourteen (14) calendar days prior to the event but up to seven (7) calendar days prior to the event, the Purchaser may apply the full amount, less any surcharge for use of credit cards for the initial purchase, of the purchase price to another Chamber event as long as such event falls within 4 months of the cancellation date. Refunds will not be issued.
For notice of cancellation received less than seven (7) days prior to an event no refunds or credits will be given.
Australian British Chamber of Commerce Media Policy
Media attendance at our events
The Australian British Chamber of Commerce welcomes media interest and attendance at events, subject to prior notification and acceptance by the Chamber.
If media wish to attend an event on a complimentary basis, we will provide amenities where possible, but there is no obligation on the part of the Chamber to provide meals or other benefits unless a ticket is purchased in advance.
Please note that the Chamber reserves the right to restrict media access to any event. If access is permitted, we reserve the right to direct the conduct of the media during the event. For example, we prefer that photos be taken within the first five minutes of the presentation and then not again until the question and-answer period commences. We reserve the right to ask media to cease any activity during an event (including requesting media to leave) if their actions are disruptive in anyway.
The Chamber requests acknowledgement in any content (such as news articles, TV or radio stories or online news) generated by the event.
Media Questions
The Chamber will enable the media to engage in the question-and-answer sessions at our events unless requested to do otherwise by the speakers.
It is at the discretion of the speakers to make time for media interviews before or after the event. Where possible, the Chamber will assist the media to determine if speakers will be available for interviews. Please consult the relevant Chamber office to facilitate any such interview ahead of time.
